Prolife

The MacKillop Prolife Group supports the philosophy of the dignity of life from conception till death and is affiliated with The Right To Life Association. Funds are raised with a variety of activities organised by members each year. Proceeds are donated to groups and charities, chosen by the students, which work towards saving lives or supporting those who are marginalised or vulnerable in our society. Within the College the group organises the ‘Jeans for Genes' promotion in August each year and ‘National Bandanna Day' in October for the Cancer Council.

Justice Group - Junior Josephites

A fourth group commissioned to take up the work formerly undertaken by Amnesty begins in 2008. The focus of this group will be to promote justice in the community, both within the school and in the wider society.

Meeting times

A Combined Service Group meeting takes place on the first Tuesday of each term and every three weeks thereafter. At this combined meeting, each group, including a representative of the Senior Council, presents a brief review of activities completed and reports on upcoming events. All class councillors and a representative of each Roll Group then report at Form Meetings or in Roll Groups to inform the students of activities that are happening in the next three weeks.

On the Tuesdays between the combined meetings, each of the groups hold committee meetings to plan events, organise activities and have some formation and discussion within the group. These meetings are advertised in the Daily Messages each week.
